Born on May 16, 1972, in Borda, India, Mayabhai Ahir was deeply influenced by the rich tradition of Dayro—a folk art form encompassing storytelling and poetry. His father, Virabhai Ahir, was also a popular entertainer, which inspired Mayabhai to pursue a career in folk arts. Over time, his powerful recitations and engaging performances have made him a household name in Gujarat.

Personal Life

Mayabhai Ahir is a family man. His son, Jayraj Ahir, is following in his father's footsteps by contributing to the Gujarati entertainment industry as a producer, aiming to elevate the state's folk culture. In 2018, Mayabhai's daughter, Sonal, married Monil Der, the son of BJP leader Jitubhai Der, in a celebrated event.
