🕉️ Introduction to Somnath Mahadev Temple
Somnath Mahadev Temple is one of the most sacred and ancient Hindu temples in India. Located in Prabhas Patan near Veraval, Gujarat, it is revered as the first Jyotirlinga among the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva.
The word Somnath means “Lord of the Moon”, symbolizing divine control over time, creation, and destruction. The temple stands as a symbol of faith, resilience, and eternal devotion.
🔱 What is a Jyotirlinga?
A Jyotirlinga is a sacred representation of Lord Shiva where He appeared as a pillar of divine light. There are 12 Jyotirlingas in India, and Somnath is considered the first among them. Worshipping them is believed to grant moksha (liberation).
