Osam Hill is particularly known for its connection to the Ramayan era. According to local folklore and saints: During the Treta Yuga, sages and hermits used to perform penance here in Lord Ram’s time. Devotees say that Hanumanji was also present here, and footprints believed to be his are still visible on the rocks. As per belief, King Bhagirath performed penance here to bring the River Ganga down to earth.

These beliefs make Osam Hill not just an ordinary mountain, but a spiritually rich land associated with Lord Ram and his devotees. The sages who meditated here sanctified the environment, which is still preserved by current-day saints and monks.
